At Pure Photography Studio, we recently welcomed the team from Gowrings Versa for a dedicated vehicle photography shoot showcasing two of their latest wheelchair-accessible vehicle conversions. Gowrings Versa are specialists in mobility vehicle manufacturing and conversion, creating practical and accessible transport solutions designed to improve independence and mobility for wheelchair users. Our task was to photograph two converted Ford Transit vans in our studio environment, capturing both the design and functionality of the vehicles with clean, high-impact imagery.
The vehicles included both a long-wheelbase and a short-wheelbase Ford Transit, each professionally converted to allow wheelchair access through a ramp system installed at the rear of the vehicle. These conversions are designed to make entering and exiting the vehicle straightforward and safe, with carefully engineered ramp angles and interior space allowing wheelchair users to travel comfortably and securely.
The shoot took place entirely within the white infinity studio at Pure Photography Studio, allowing us to produce crisp, distraction-free imagery that highlights the engineering and build quality of the vehicles. The seamless white background creates a clean and professional visual style, ideal for marketing materials, brochures, and online content.
A key element of this shoot was the use of our new six-metre by three-metre suspended studio light. Mounted overhead, this large soft light source produces beautifully even illumination across the entire vehicle, eliminating harsh shadows and reflections that can often occur when photographing large, reflective subjects like vans. The result is a smooth, controlled lighting environment that emphasises the contours, details, and finish of the vehicles.
Particular focus was placed on photographing the rear ramp access system, which is central to the function of these wheelchair-accessible conversions. With the ramp deployed, we captured a series of angles demonstrating the accessibility and practicality of the design. Close-up detail shots were also taken to highlight the build quality and engineering behind the ramp mechanism.
In addition to the accessibility features, we produced a range of full vehicle images showcasing both the long-wheelbase and short-wheelbase models within the studio space. These images provide Gowrings Versa with a consistent visual library that can be used across their website, marketing campaigns, and promotional materials.
Working with specialist manufacturers like Gowrings Versa allows us to combine technical product photography with creative studio lighting to produce images that clearly communicate both design and purpose. The final photographs provide a professional, polished representation of these wheelchair-accessible vehicles, helping Gowrings Versa showcase their innovative mobility solutions with clarity and impact.
