We’ve had the privilege of working closely with our still life photographers and Camira’s marketing and design teams on a series of interiors and product photography aimed at showcasing the beauty and craftsmanship behind their fabric collections.
Camira is a Yorkshire-based fabric designer and manufacturer renowned for creating high-quality textiles for commercial spaces across the globe. From offices and universities to hotels, hospitals, trains, and cinemas, their fabrics are used in a wide variety of environments. What sets Camira apart is the meticulous care and thought that goes into every collection. Their products are not only full of personality and innovation but are also grounded in sustainability, with a strong ethical mindset that drives every design decision.
Each collection is a story in itself, reflecting the depth of design process, sustainable sourcing, and commitment to quality that informs each new product launch. Capturing this essence through creative product photography requires careful planning with our still life photographers and thoughtful styling. In many cases, the preparation process takes weeks as we dive deep into the designers’ vision, translating their ideas and the fabric’s narrative into a visual experience that resonates with their audience.
Our product photography for Camira serve a dual purpose. The first aspect focuses on creative “sets” where we show the fabrics in situ—upholstered on design-led furniture, carefully selected to complement the texture, color, and overall aesthetic of the fabric. These settings are crafted to evoke the environments where the fabrics would be used, highlighting their versatility and functionality in commercial spaces. We pay great attention to the details, ensuring the furniture and props are thoughtfully styled, while still letting the fabric take center stage.
The second aspect of the shoot involves a more intimate look at the fabric itself. Through flat lays, close-up shots, and detailed images, our still life photographers explore the various textures, colorways, and finishes that make each fabric unique. These images are designed to capture the essence of each collection, providing potential clients with a tangible sense of the fabric’s quality and design. The props are always subtle and minimal, chosen to enhance the fabrics without overwhelming them, allowing the true character of the material to shine through.
Beyond our studio work, we’ve also had the opportunity to capture Camira’s fabrics in their natural environment. For several location-based shoots, we took high-end pieces of furniture—upholstered in Camira’s latest fabrics—back to the very mills where the textiles are produced. These industrial settings, with their raw, textured backdrops, provide a striking contrast to the sleek, contemporary furniture. The juxtaposition of cutting-edge design and traditional manufacturing processes makes for powerful, evocative imagery that perfectly reflects the story behind Camira’s UK-made fabrics.
